The Prime Minister, Ali Faleh al-Zaydi, received the U.S. Central Command Commander Charles Brown Cooper on Wednesday to discuss joint coordination and the completion of the international coalition's military mission.

The Prime Minister's media office stated in a press release received by the news agency that the meeting emphasized commitment to the agreed timelines, with September 30 set as a fixed and final date for ending the international coalition's military mission in Iraq and completing the exit of its forces.

It added that the Prime Minister indicated that October 1 will be a new day in the course of the Iraqi state with the country free from any foreign military presence and the completion of national sovereignty, calling for adherence to constitutional principles and directing efforts towards construction, reconstruction, and development.

Al-Zaydi stressed, according to the statement, that restricting arms to the state in accordance with the law protects everyone, enhances state authority, and represents a fundamental condition for transitioning to a stage of development, affirming the final agreement between both parties to transition Iraqi-American relations towards economic, developmental, and security partnership in accordance with the outcomes of the visit to Washington last July.
