The dismissal of the police chief of Maysan and the referral of security agency directors for investigation in connection with the attacks on Saudi Arabia.

Baghdad – The Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ali Falah Al-Zaydi, directed today, Saturday, to relieve the Police Chief of Maysan Province from his position, following recent security breaches and drone attacks targeting oil facilities in Saudi Arabia. The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Sabah Al-Nauman, stated that Al-Zaydi also ordered the transfer of the directors of security agencies in the province to the command and referred them to investigation, in light of the security breaches that Maysan has witnessed. This decision comes after Saudi Arabia announced that the "East-West" pipeline in the Riyadh and Medina regions was attacked by drones that it stated were coming from Iraq, resulting in injuries and material damages. Previously, the Prime Minister had directed the relieving of the Maysan Operations Commander from his position and the formation of an investigative council regarding the operations command, after it was proven that the attacks originated from a site within the province.
