The meteorological observer Sadiq Atiyah reported that the unstable weather conditions in Iraq will continue tonight and tomorrow, Friday, with expectations of varied rainfall intensity in several governorates.
Atiyah stated in a post on his Facebook page, which was followed by the News Video Agency, that the rains accompanied by lightning and thunder will include the provinces of Nineveh, Erbil, Dohuk, and Sulaymaniyah, with varying intensities from light to moderate, in addition to the possibility of heavy rainfall in some areas of northern and northeastern Iraq.
He added that the central region will witness chances of light to moderate rainfall in Baghdad, Salah al-Din, Anbar, Babylon, Karbala, Wassit, and parts of Diyala, while heavy rainfall is expected in some areas of Anbar during the night on Friday and the morning of Saturday.
He warned of the possibility of downdraft winds associated with thunderstorm clouds, as well as lightning strikes, urging caution in the areas covered by the forecasts.
In the southern region, Atiyah indicated that the chances of rain will be limited and scattered in most areas, with expectations of rain in the provinces of Najaf and Al-Diwaniyah.
The meteorological observer attached his post with a map showing the estimated rainfall amounts expected over the next twenty-four hours.
