The Iranian weightlifter Reihaneh Karimi won the bronze medal in the 77 kg category at the Asian Games held in Nagoya, Japan.
The women's weightlifting competitions kicked off today, Sunday, as part of the Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan, where Karimi competed in the 77 kg category.
In the snatch category, the Iranian weightlifter failed her first attempt to lift 103 kg, but recovered in her second and third attempts, successfully lifting 103 kg and 107 kg.
In the clean and jerk, Karimi started her performance by lifting 131 kg in her first attempt, then 136 kg in her second attempt, but she failed to lift 140 kg in her third attempt. Nonetheless, Karimi was awarded the bronze medal at these games, marking her name as the first female weightlifter in Iran's history to win a medal at the Asian Games.
It is worth mentioning that the gold medal in this weight category went to the Chinese weightlifter "He Rengiu" with a total of 258 kg, while the Kazakh weightlifter Ayanat Jumagali won the silver medal with a total of 246 kg.
