The management of Al-Zawraa Club decided, today Wednesday, to take legal action and file a lawsuit against one of the media personnel to protect the rights, reputation, and status of the club.
The management stated in a statement received by the Video News Agency that it has been monitoring what has been circulated on social media by one of the media personnel, along with claims regarding possessing official papers and documents pertaining to the club, as well as the documents and information he has published and circulated.
It clarified that merely publishing pictures of documents, or claiming they are official papers, does not, in any case, prove their validity, source integrity, or legal validity, especially since the circulating contract does not bear any signature or fingerprint that verifies its attribution to any of its parties. The club management pointed out that it does not acknowledge the validity of what has been circulated and does not endorse its content, leaving it to the competent judicial authorities to verify the authenticity of these documents, their source, the means of obtaining them, and the legality of publishing and circulating them.
It added that freedom of expression and media work is a right guaranteed within the framework of the law; however, it does not permit the publication of unsubstantiated claims or documents, nor the involvement of the club’s name in issues that are not based on established facts, affirming that any violation of this nature will be addressed by the management through legal frameworks and means, and will not allow the name of Al-Zawraa Club or its reputation to become a subject of defamation or irresponsible discussion.
It continued that it will not engage in any disputes via social media and will not allow the name of Al-Zawraa Club to be turned into a topic for accusations and defamation, emphasizing that the decisive factor in this case will be the judiciary and the competent authorities, away from preconceived judgments and personal interpretations.
It confirmed that it reserves all its legal rights and will take all necessary measures against anyone proven to have exceeded, offended, or published anything that could harm the club's rights, reputation, and status, according to the law, without leniency, favoritism, or retreat.
