The Supreme Judicial Council renewed, on this Sunday, its commitment to perform its constitutional mission in upholding the law and preserving rights and freedoms, emphasizing that the rule of law is the foundation for building the state and strengthening its institutions.
In a statement on the occasion of the International Day of Law, which falls on September 13, the council stated that the rule of law is the essential pillar for establishing state institutions, ensuring rights and freedoms, and achieving justice and equality among members of society.
The Iraqi judiciary reaffirmed its continued commitment to its constitutional responsibility to apply the law, protect rights and freedoms, and uphold the principles of justice and equality, which contributes to enhancing citizens' trust in state institutions.
The council stressed the importance of enshrining the principle of equality before the law without distinction, as it is the foundation for achieving justice and solidifying the rule of institutions.
