Sports nutrition expert Joni Ondina described the diet of Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo as "simple and traditional," emphasizing that "the secret of the Al Nassr striker is a component that 90% of ordinary people or even professional athletes lack, which is consistency."
At 41 years old, Ronaldo managed to become the fourth oldest player to participate in the World Cup last summer and the second oldest to score a goal, following Cameroonian Roger Milla, who achieved this at the age of 42 years and 39 days.
To maintain his fitness and motivation, the captain of the Portugal national team has always taken great care of his body, but without resorting to magical strategies, instead relying on a diet that Joni Ondina describes as "simple and traditional."
The sports nutritionist stated: The secret of Ronaldo's diet is a component that 90% of ordinary people or even professional athletes lack, which is consistency.
He added: Any of the ingredients in his home are accessible to all of us, and I would say his nutrition is somewhat boring.
The expert lamented: Often we rely on magical solutions and things we read on social media, while we set aside the foundation of consistency. Cristiano does not use exotic ingredients imported from faraway places. His kitchen is filled with natural items; the problem is that there are young people at the age of eighteen buying Himalayan salt or reading on social media that if they fast for fifteen days, they will score from the impossible angle, which is not true.
The greatest difficulty lies in having all this commitment and discipline without letting one’s relationship with food turn toxic.
He emphasized: Ronaldo has stated that he very rarely consumes simple sugars or ultra-processed foods to maintain a healthy relationship with food.
He concluded: What we should try to emulate is that 95% of his day is spent eating healthily and there’s 5% where he does something different. I believe the ratio is different for other people.
