Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaydi received, today Monday, at his residence in the French capital Paris, the heads and representatives of major French companies to discuss opportunities for their participation and increasing their presence in Iraq.
The Al-Zaydi office stated in a statement received by the News Video Agency that the Prime Minister highlighted during the meeting the importance of the historical relations between the two countries, affirming that Iraq views France as a reliable partner within the framework of lasting friendship, and the country's need for strategic partners.
The statement clarified that the Prime Minister reviewed the extensive investment map in the fields of economy, energy, industry, infrastructure, pharmaceutical industry, and railways, confirming the government’s provision of support, facilities, and a suitable investment environment for companies wishing to invest, pointing to the strategic development project and its importance in enhancing economic connectivity and supporting supply chains.
Al-Zaydi announced an agreement with French President Emmanuel Macron to prepare for holding the Baghdad-Paris Conference in the capital Baghdad, confirming Iraq's efforts to raise its crude oil production capacity to ten million barrels per day, alongside investment projects in associated gas and mineral resources such as sulfur, phosphate, silica, petrochemicals, and infrastructure.
