The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ismail Baqaei, confirmed today, Friday, that dialogue between Saudi Arabia and Yemen is essential to resolve issues through diplomacy, reiterating Iran's principled position and its readiness to make efforts and use its capabilities to help end the conflict if both parties request it.

Baqaei stated in a press statement reviewed by the News Video Agency that the events of the past twelve years have proven that foreign intervention, military approaches, and blockades are not solutions to Yemen's problem, indicating that the Yemeni people have suffered a decade of unjust marine and aerial blockades orchestrated by external entities, calling on countries in the region and the Islamic world to exert efforts to end this situation.

He added that the Islamic Republic of Iran rejects any claims made by an official in the Saudi Foreign Ministry regarding Iran's role in the operations of the Yemenis and its influence on their decisions, emphasizing that resolving the issue requires respect for Yemen's national sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the cessation of foreign interventions and the aerial and maritime blockade.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson continued that the Yemeni armed forces act based on their own interests and assessments, asserting that the accusations directed at his country are implausible, and that Iran renews its stance that escalating tensions is futile as it does not serve the interests of any party.
