The Lebanese artist Nancy Ajram made an appearance that combined femininity and boldness in her latest music video titled "Bastafzik," through striking beauty choices in terms of outfits, makeup, and hairstyle, reflecting a different direction in her image within the clip directed by Lebanese Joe Bouaid.
Ajram, who played the role of a candy seller, chose a short black dress with a fitted cut, featuring red lace details at the chest, in a styling that showcased the trend of visible lingerie, which highlights parts of the bra within the look.
She coordinated the dress with prominent gold jewelry, including large circular earrings, chains, and bracelets, alongside high-heeled black summer sandals, while adopting a straight and wavy hairstyle, complemented by a colorful scarf that added a feminine touch to the bold "look."
Different techniques and unusual colors
The change was not limited to clothing but extended to the makeup, which reflected different techniques than those Ajram typically chose in her previous appearances.
In an interview with CNN in Arabic, Lebanese makeup expert Fadi Qattaya explained that the red lipstick, despite its recurring presence in Ajram's looks, was applied this time in a different way, by outlining the edges of the mouth with a dark color, with a focus on the strong red in the center of the lips to highlight the contrast between the two colors.
Regarding the eyes, Qattaya moved away from the gray and black smoky colors that he had previously adopted in Ajram's strong looks, including the makeup from the "Ma Tiji Hena" clip, and instead opted for earth tones, which the Lebanese artist is known to prefer.
He explained that shine on the eyelids was part of this direction, alongside extending the eyes outward more clearly than usual, and defining the eyes with black, in a step he noted had not been present in her makeup for a while.
In contrast, the eyelashes appeared longer and thicker compared to what Ajram was used to adopting, aligning with the clear definition of the eyes and other makeup elements.
