Macron responds to Trump's statements about the unrest in France: "Silly comments"

Macron criticizes Trump's statements about protests in France: "Stupid comments."
French President Emmanuel Macron criticized statements made by American President Trump and foreign leaders regarding the protests happening in France, labeling them as "stupid comments," after his American counterpart Donald Trump accused immigrants of fueling the unrest.
Macron stated, in remarks covered by the news agency in a tour of Arab countries in the Gulf region, that the claims of France experiencing an invasion from immigrants and Islamists are "entirely untrue."
He added that the comments that insult France at this time annoy him, reaffirming his rejection of what he called positions that present an inaccurate picture of the situation in the country.
Macron's remarks come amid rising controversy over the protests and violence that have occurred in France, along with mutual criticisms regarding the causes of the unrest and the role of immigration in their developments.
