Iraq condemned today, Friday, the terrorist attack that targeted Jordanian citizens.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement received by "Video News Agency" that "Foreign Minister, Fouad Hussein, held a phone call with Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, during which he expressed his strong condemnation of the terrorist attack that targeted mourners during a funeral at a Christian church, resulting in the martyrdom of six people and injuring about 28 others."
Hussein confirmed "Iraq's solidarity with Jordan in the face of terrorism," expressing "his sincere condolences and sympathy to the leadership of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and its people, and to the families of the victims," wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
He pointed out that "terrorism seeks to sow discord and stir up sedition among the components of society," affirming that "the Iraqi people have long suffered from the scourge of terrorism, which underscores the importance of solidarity and cooperation in confronting it."
For his part, the Jordanian minister expressed "his gratitude and appreciation for Iraq's stance and solidarity with Jordan."
