The Baghdad Operations Command announced today, Saturday, the initiation of organizational security measures to secure the peaceful demonstrations that will take place tomorrow in Tahrir Square.

The command stated in a statement received by "The Video News Agency" that "in implementation of the directives of the Prime Minister and the recommendations of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the Baghdad Operations Command has begun taking organizational security measures to provide protection for the peaceful demonstrations that will start on Sunday morning, October 25, 2026, in Tahrir Square in the center of the capital and to maintain the security and safety of the demonstrators."

It added that "the measures include a thorough inspection of individuals in the approaches to the roads leading to Tahrir Square in order to provide the highest level of security for the demonstrators and to protect public and private property, while respecting human rights principles and without disturbing public order," emphasizing that the roads leading to Tahrir Square will not be closed by the security forces and, if necessary, closures will be ordered exclusively by the command headquarters.

It continued, stating that "the passage of tuk-tuks and motorbikes of all kinds is strictly prohibited on (Mohammed Al-Qasim Highway - Army Channel Highway - Salah al-Din/Shuala Highway) and the roads leading to Tahrir Square starting from twelve o'clock midnight tonight."

The Baghdad Operations Command urged demonstrators to cooperate with their comrades in the security forces and to adhere to the instructions to ensure their safety and security.
