The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that the electronic group "Hanzala" published more than 300 megabytes of information, revealing the identity of the commander of the “Yahalom” unit in the Israeli occupation army, as well as family photos and details about the schedules of senior leaders of this army.
Haaretz stated that its investigations confirmed the accuracy and timeliness of the published information; however, the source of the information leak remains unknown. It announced that the "Hanzala" group published on Tuesday more than 300 megabytes of information containing dozens of files. This information relates to Colonel "A", the commander of the "Yahalom" unit, which is a special engineering unit in the Israeli occupation army. According to this report, the published files contain, in addition to images of this officer and his family members, information about the schedules and upcoming events of the senior leaders of the Israeli occupation army. "Hanzala" has confirmed that it possesses hundreds of other files.
Haaretz reported that some of the published files contain information about events that were planned to take place this week with the attendance of senior leaders of the Israeli occupation army. Among this information is an invitation to a ceremony attended by Major General Nodav Lottan, the commander of the ground forces in the Israeli occupation army.
The leaked information also includes the expected schedule of the "Yahalom" unit commander for the next month. According to Haaretz, publishing details about the whereabouts of senior officers and their schedules could provide ground for the misuse of this information. This leak is not limited to these cases only; it also included other files containing information about robotic systems belonging to the engineering corps of the Israeli occupation army, some undisclosed technologies, and the processes of developing and using this equipment.
According to Haaretz, the presence of voice messages among the published files could indicate the possibility of hackers gaining access to the phones of officers and soldiers of the Israeli occupation army or their cloud backups. It was reported that most of the leaked files relate to the engineering corps of the Israeli occupation army, but it appears that some information is also linked to the media office of this army.
