Turkey expects a 10% to 20% increase in tangerine production this season, while Iraq topped the list of countries importing Turkish tangerines in 2025, with a value of $360 million.
Cengiz Balık, Chairman of the Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Exporters Union in the Aegean Region, stated that Turkey's tangerine exports generated total revenues of $912 million last year, noting that Russia ranked second with $313 million, followed by Ukraine with $72 million, then Poland with $23 million, and Serbia with $19 million.
Balık added that the Turkish agricultural sector aims to enhance its exports during the current season, focusing on compliance with pesticide residue standards, implementing good agricultural practices, facilitating customs procedures, and ensuring that shipments reach foreign markets on time.
