The national security advisor to the South Korean President, Wei Seong-lak, confirmed that his country will continue to provide assistance to Ukraine, despite the Foreign Ministry's decision to recall its ambassador to Kyiv and several diplomatic staff.
Wei Seong-lak stated that the ambassador's recall raised questions about the possibility of a comprehensive shift in his country's policy towards Ukraine, emphasizing that Seoul will continue to participate in international efforts to support Kyiv as a responsible member of the international community.
He added that the South Korean government is treating current developments in bilateral relations separately from the file of international aid provided to Ukraine.
The official pointed out that South Korea also intends to maintain its commitment to the sanctions imposed on Russia, assuring that the recent diplomatic developments will not necessarily mean a change in his country's stance regarding the Ukrainian crisis.
