The Minister of Transport, Wahab Al-Husseini, discussed today, Sunday, with the Chairwoman of the Iraqi-British Business Council, Baroness Emma Nicholson, and the accompanying delegation, the prospects for joint cooperation and ways to develop the Iraqi transport sector.
The Ministry of Transport stated in a statement received by the Video News Agency that the meeting, which was attended by representatives from member companies in the council, addressed the outcomes of the previous visit of the council's delegation to the headquarters of the General Company for Maritime Transport and the General Company for Ports of Iraq in Basra, and what was discussed regarding the manufacturing of marine boats and the development of port facilities.
The ministry added that Wahab Al-Husseini discussed with Baroness Emma Nicholson ways to develop human resources through specialized training courses, in addition to enhancing cooperation in the fields of aviation, air navigation, railways, and maritime transport.
For her part, the Chairwoman of the Iraqi-British Business Council and her accompanying delegation expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the Minister for the warm reception, confirming their commitment to continue joint cooperation and support efforts aimed at developing the transport sector in Iraq.
