After three years of hiding, the crime-fighting unit in Al-Mahawil apprehends a suspect in a murder case.

The Criminal Investigation Division of Mahawil, affiliated with the Northern Babylon Criminal Investigation Department, was able to apprehend a wanted suspect for premeditated murder under Article (406) of the Penal Code on Monday, after she had been hiding for nearly three years.

A statement from the Babylon Provincial Police Command, received by the news agency Video, confirmed that the suspect is wanted for a murder committed in the Al-Hashimiyah district. Throughout the past period, she had been moving between several locations to evade security forces and escape detection. However, investigative efforts and monitoring movements contributed to narrowing the search radius around her.

The statement added that an operational emergency plan was activated immediately upon receiving a security tip from a police officer confirming the suspect's presence in the Mahawil district, which resulted in her arrest and the accurate handling of the information. It also mentioned that the suspect was handed over to the Al-Hashimiyah Criminal Investigation Division due to jurisdiction for legal proceedings and proper investigations.
