The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Adnan Fayhan Al-Dulaimi, confirmed today, Wednesday, that September 30th represents an important turning point in the history of modern Iraq, pointing out the end of the presence of American and foreign forces on Iraqi soil, and the scheduling of Turkish forces, which enhances Iraq's restoration of its security and military sovereignty over its land and air.
Fayhan clarified, in a statement followed by the "News Video Agency," that "this achievement is a national milestone that embodies Iraq's complete and comprehensive sovereignty over its land and resources, and establishes a new transition towards a phase characterized by construction and development and enhancing the role of state institutions."
He added that this "historic achievement embodies a victory for the will of the people who cling to the independence of their national decision and their full sovereignty over their security and resources, affirming their right to chart their security, political, and economic path according to their national interests, away from any external interference or impositions."
He pointed out that "this day represents a solid foundation for continuing to build a strong and capable state, entrenching the rule of law, and steadfastly moving towards a phase of cooperation with the regional and international surroundings that serves Iraq's interests, translating the sacrifices of Iraqis into real achievements that benefit all the people of the homeland."
Fayhan "thanked the religious authority, the pure blood, the martyrs, the heroes of the Popular Mobilization, the armed forces, factions and the Peshmerga, in addition to the coordination framework, national political forces, and the previous and current governments, as well as the tribes of Iraq and all categories and segments of Iraqi society, for their contributions in achieving this accomplishment."
He appreciated "the positions of the countries, organizations, and entities that stood with Iraq during its ordeal, especially the Islamic Republic and Hezbollah, expressing his gratitude to everyone who supported Iraq."
Fayhan concluded by saying, "Congratulations to our people on the day of national sovereignty, and congratulations to the homeland for its sacrificing and loyal people."
