The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ali Faleh al-Zaydi, discussed today, Wednesday, the fortifications and military and security tasks of the armed forces in the phase following the completion of the withdrawal of the international coalition to combat ISIS from Iraq and the completion of national sovereignty.
The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Sabah al-Numan, stated in a statement received by the Video News Agency that the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ali Faleh al-Zaydi, chaired an extraordinary meeting of the National Security Ministerial Council, during which preparations and plans responsible for enhancing the capabilities of military institutions to establish security, stability, the rule of law, and the state were discussed.
During the meeting, al-Zaydi confirmed that the security and military decision has become fully national and specific to the official state institutions, emphasizing the necessity of vigilance and constant readiness, and raising the level of coordination and cooperation among all forces and security agencies, as well as updating their plans, procedures, and databases, and relying on modern technological means to maintain security and stability throughout the country.
He stressed the importance of bolstering intelligence efforts, supporting proactive security work, and pursuing the catalysts of extremism and sectarian incitement that target the unity of the people and sow discord, threatening public and social peace.
He also pointed out the importance of the role of the War Production Authority at this stage by establishing a fruitful production partnership with global specialized companies in the manufacture of weapons and military equipment, explaining that the government is proceeding with achieving regional and international partnerships for joint cooperation, moving away from the politics of axes and based on mutual interests.
