Security expert Abdel Karim Khalaf confirmed today, Thursday, that radars cannot detect hostile Israeli aircraft that breach the country's airspace due to the inability of these devices to track their movement, adding that intercepting F-35 type aircraft is extremely difficult because there is no tracking signature during their movement in the air.

Khalaf said in a press interview that "radars cannot detect hostile Israeli aircraft that breach the country's airspace due to the inability of these devices to track their movement," pointing out that "what happened in Iran, despite possessing advanced air defense systems, including the S-300 systems, is evidence of the difficulty in confronting these aircraft."

He added that "Iraq faces similar challenges given the current capabilities, despite contracting with several countries like Turkey, France, and South Korea," noting that "possessing varied radar and defense systems does not necessarily mean the ability to detect and deal with stealth aircraft."

He explained that "the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces regarding the focus on air defense systems and their development represent part of the necessary efforts, but he believes that resolving the issue of protecting Iraqi airspace requires advanced capabilities and technologies, especially with the ongoing technological development in military aviation."

Khalaf pointed out that "the United States, Israel, and Western countries have made technological advancements in this field," adding that "Iraq has significant financial resources and the financial crisis it faces is temporary and could be resolved at any time."

It is noteworthy that the National Security Council discussed today, Thursday, the issue of enhancing air defense and air force to reinforce national sovereignty.
