The coach of the Iraq Veteran National Team, Shakir Mahmoud, announced the readiness of his players to compete for the title of the second edition of the Gulf Cup for veteran players, confirming that the team aims to deliver a remarkable performance that befits the titleholder and the reputation of Iraqi football.
This came during the coordination meeting and press conference for the tournament, which was held today, Thursday, in the Qatari capital, Doha, with the participation of the coaches of the participating teams.
Mahmoud noted that the team has faced some injuries and absences, but this will not diminish the players' ambition to compete for the title and deliver a performance that meets the expectations of Iraqi fans.
The coach of the Iraq Veterans called for future tournaments to be held concurrently with the Gulf Cup for national teams, which would help enhance interest in Gulf football and take advantage of the competitive atmosphere.
The conference included a review of the tournament regulations, its system, and laws, as well as discussions about the organizational arrangements for the current edition.
