The Iraqi U-17 national team has entered a closed training camp in Qatar that will last for five days, as part of its preparations for the Asian Cup qualifiers scheduled in Thailand this November.
The preparations saw the inclusion of three new players in the squad: Abbas Ali Filih, Mohammed Fah Hill Mohsen, and Mujtaba Bassam Nasser, aiming to enhance the coaching staff's options and raise the team's readiness before the competitions begin.
The camp comes after the team's participation in the Gulf Cup for youth, as the coaching staff seeks to utilize this period to develop technical and physical aspects and achieve cohesion among the players.
The Iraqi team is scheduled to begin its qualifiers by facing Hong Kong on November 8, then meeting Chinese Taipei on the 14th of the same month, and the Maldives on November 17, before concluding its matches against Thailand on November 20.
The Iraqi team is competing in Group B alongside the teams from Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei, the Maldives, and Thailand, hoping to secure a qualifying spot for the finals of the Asian Cup hosted by Uzbekistan next year.
