The group of scholars and teachers in the religious seminary in Qom condemned the ruling issued by the Kuwaiti authorities against His Eminence Ayatollah Sheikh Hussein Al-Matouk and his brothers.

The group affirmed in a statement received by the Video News Agency, "the necessity of ensuring their rights and investigating the circumstances surrounding the issuance of the ruling, calling for urgent and responsible action to prevent the shedding of the blood of the oppressed and to preserve the dignity of scholars and to achieve justice in accordance with religious rulings and applicable laws.

The public relations office of the group of scholars and teachers in the religious seminary in Qom stated that following the issuance of the death sentence against His Eminence Ayatollah Sheikh Hussein Al-Matouk by the Kuwaiti authorities, the group issued a statement which included:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
The unjust ruling issued by the Kuwaiti authorities against His Eminence Ayatollah Sheikh Hussein Al-Matouk (may Allah protect him) and his brothers, who are among those working to preserve the Islamic community and maintain its unity, represents a deliberate targeting of the scholars and followers of the Ahlul Bayt (peace be upon them) in the region.
The leniency in issuing death sentences and the sanctification of the blood of Muslims—which are among the major sins that incur the wrath of Allah—is a legal and moral responsibility on everyone, especially scholars and relevant authorities, to take urgent action through legitimate means to protect lives, preserve the dignity of scholars, ensure justice, and prevent any measures that may lead to the shedding of the blood of the oppressed.
We affirm the necessity of investigating the circumstances surrounding the issuance of this unjust ruling and following up on the case through legal and legitimate means, calling for responsible and urgent action, and for the necessary efforts to be made to ensure the rights of the accused, preserve the sanctity of blood, and achieve justice in accordance with religious rulings and applicable laws.
