The Ministry of Interior emphasized today, Sunday, the necessity of verifying news and relying on official and trustworthy sources for obtaining information before disseminating it through social media.

The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, Colonel Mohammed Ali Al-Hassoun, stated in a statement received by the Video News Agency the "importance of combating rumors and addressing misleading information," stressing the "need to rely on official and trustworthy sources for obtaining information and not to circulate unverified news due to its negative effects on society."

Al-Hassoun urged citizens to "be aware and responsible when dealing with information circulated on social media, and to ensure the accuracy of information before publishing or sharing it," emphasizing that "facing rumors is a shared responsibility that requires cooperation from everyone."

He also called on citizens to "report cases of rumors and misleading information via the number 911, and not to contribute to their dissemination or circulation," confirming that "violators will face legal actions in accordance with the existing rules and laws, which will contribute to maintaining the security and stability of society."
