A delegation from the Media and Communications Commission discussed today, Sunday, with the President of the National Authority for the Management and Regulation of Communications in Romania (ANCOM) the prospects for enhancing cooperation between Iraq and Romania in the field of communications and information technology.
The Commission stated in a statement received by the Video News Agency that the meeting addressed areas of digital transformation, infrastructure development and communication networks, spectrum management and monitoring, 5G technologies, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, data centers, and cybersecurity, in addition to developing technological partnerships, exchanging expertise, building capacities, training, knowledge transfer, and benefiting from the Romanian and European experiences in developing the regulatory and technical environment for the sector.
The two sides initially agreed to discuss preparing and signing a memorandum of understanding between the Media and Communications Commission and ANCOM, which would establish a framework for sustainable institutional cooperation and exchange of expertise in the fields of communications and information technology, as well as developing joint practical programs that serve the development of the sector in both countries. This visit is part of the Iraqi delegation's participation in the international meeting on monitoring the satellite spectrum in Romania.
