A delegation from the Board of Commissioners of the Communications and Media Commission, headed by the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, Blasim Salem Al-Janabi, participated today, Sunday, in the international meeting for monitoring the satellite frequency spectrum held in Romania, with the participation of representatives from regulatory bodies, the International Telecommunication Union, and a select group of experts and global companies.
The council stated in a statement received by the Video News Agency that the participation included attending technical and organizational sessions that discussed the latest technologies and mechanisms used in managing and monitoring the satellite frequency spectrum, identifying and addressing harmful interference, protecting Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), as well as reviewing the regulatory experiences and practices of the participating countries.
According to the statement, the delegation held meetings with officials at the Romanian National Regulatory Authority (ANCOM) to discuss enhancing cooperation, exchanging expertise, and building capacities. It also conducted a field visit to the Cheia National Ground Station to learn about the systems for operating and monitoring satellite communications, interference management, and the space debris monitoring system, as part of the council's aim to enhance Iraq's international presence and develop national capabilities in this sector.
