A decisive package of government decisions to regulate missions, control expenses, and secure oil exports.

Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaydi chaired the eighteenth regular session of the Council of Ministers today, Tuesday, to discuss developments in the country and the items listed on the agenda.

The media office of the Prime Minister stated in a statement received by the Video News Agency that the council approved the Ministry of Finance providing the Ministry of Oil with financial allocations for ministries and officially funded bodies to supply them monthly according to each spending unit's allocation.

It confirmed the council's approval to amend its decision (165 of 2026) regarding the mechanism for selling crude oil and petroleum products to ensure the continuation of its operation until the current crisis ends and navigation returns to normal in the Strait of Hormuz, as well as amending decision (348 of 2026) for signing agreements between the Ministry of Oil and the American company Chevron within the agreements of the upfront payment and securing oil and technical consulting.

The statement added that the council approved the amendment of its decision (388 of 2026) related to the framework agreement on water with Turkey so that the quantities of oil exported to the Turkish side do not exceed 33,000 barrels per day as a first phase, in addition to extending import approvals for medical services at the Ministry of Health until the end of the current year.

It indicated the council's approval to suspend external missions for state employees and restrict them to the concerned minister for extreme cases, with a reduction of their allocations by 60%, except for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in addition to approving the draft law to repeal the dissolved Revolutionary Command Council's decision No. 110 of 1989 and referring it to the House of Representatives, and issuing a ship loading system based on the provisions of the Law of the Iraqi Maritime Authority, as well as granting the Minister of Trade the authority to negotiate and sign a draft cooperation agreement with Serbia.
