Al-Halbousi invites his Turkish counterpart to visit Baghdad.

The Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Haibet al-Halbousi, issued an official invitation to the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmuş, to visit the capital Baghdad to enhance parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

Al-Halbousi stated during a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Numan Kurtulmuş in Ankara, followed by the "Video News Agency," that "a roadmap will be starting to be implemented on September 30 to end the issue of uncontrolled weapons and to restrict arms to the state and official Iraqi institutions."
 
He added, "We hope there will be an area free of terrorism and armed manifestations, which is in the interest of both countries."
 
Al-Halbousi pointed to "the activation of the framework agreement between the two countries in 2025," noting an "agreement to form a committee to follow up on the files of recent signed agreements."
 
Regarding the development road, Al-Halbousi said that "this road is very important for both countries," adding, "Iraq seeks to find other export outlets."
