The President of the Republic, Nizar Amidi, received the new Chargé d'Affaires of the American Embassy in Iraq, Stephen Fagan, today, Tuesday, to discuss bilateral relations between Iraq and the United States and ways to develop them, in addition to regional developments and a number of issues of common interest.
The presidency stated in a statement received by the Video News Agency that Amidi emphasized the importance of continuing to work on developing cooperation between the two countries in the political, economic, and developmental fields, which contributes to supporting Iraq's security and stability, wishing Fagan success and good fortune in his new duties.
For his part, Fagan affirmed his country's desire to continue cooperation with Iraq and to develop bilateral relations in a way that serves both countries, praising the importance of the partnership between the two sides in various fields.
