Official Korean data showed that Iraq ranked sixth among the largest suppliers of crude oil to South Korea during August, with a share of over 3.8 million barrels.

South Korea's total crude oil imports reached 91.335 million barrels in August 2026, a decrease of 2.2% from 93.351 million barrels in August 2025, and a decrease of 2% from 93.180 million barrels in July.

According to the data, South Korea's imports from Iraq in August 2026 were about 3.826 million barrels, marking an annual decrease of 65.5% compared to about 11.105 million barrels in the same month of 2025, while no Iraqi imports were recorded during July.

The data indicated a clear decline in the share of Iraqi oil in the Korean market compared to last year, as the quantities imported from Iraq decreased by about 7.279 million barrels on an annual basis.
