The Diwaniyah Governorate Council announced today, Friday, the reactivation of the government crisis cell, with four main duties defined for it during the upcoming phase, as part of the preparations for the rainy season and to face any potential emergencies.
Council President Omar Al-Karwi stated in a press interview reviewed by "Video News Agency" that "an extensive meeting was held at the Diwaniyah Governorate Office, attended by the governor, security leaders, and department directors, resulting in a comprehensive agreement to reactivate the government crisis cell and define its four main duties."
He explained that "one of the most prominent tasks of the cell is direct coordination regarding the issue of rain and floods, unifying governmental efforts to contain drowning incidents and reduce the risks of floods, in addition to coordinating rescue operations in case of any emergency."
He added that "the meeting confirmed the importance of adopting the principle of decentralization in managing support and assistance efforts, to ensure quick response and provide help to remote areas."
Al-Karwi pointed out that "the government crisis cell represents an important title in managing upcoming challenges, and the decision to reactivate it was based on the nature of the upcoming phase, especially with the winter season approaching and the climatic indicators related to rainfall and flood flow."
He emphasized the necessity of taking early preparations and enhancing coordination among the concerned parties to ensure a rapid response to any potential emergency.
