The Communications and Media Commission decided today, Sunday, to extend the ban on Emad Bajlan's media appearances in all Iraqi and foreign media operating in Iraq for an additional period of 90 days, in continuation of the previous decision and in light of the violations he has issued through social media platforms.

The commission stated in a statement received by the News Video Agency that the extension was based on the powers granted to the executive bloc under Legislative Order No. 65 of 2004, as amended by Order No. 100 of 2004, and based on the monitoring report from the Media Regulatory Department regarding media content published by Emad Bajlan on his personal page on the X platform, which included offensive phrases and accusations that harm individuals' reputations and the use of inappropriate language.

The commission added that the posts constituted a clear violation of the broadcasting regulations issued by the commission, specifically the articles related to propriety and public morals, false and invalid materials, accuracy, integrity, and transparency, as well as respecting the right to privacy.

It continued that the extension period will begin from the date of issuance and will last until February 28, 2027, confirming that any parties violating the decision will bear all legal consequences in the event of hosting him.
