Citizens of Babil Governorate staged a demonstration today, Sunday, to commemorate the seventh anniversary of the October Revolution, where they demanded the accountability of thieves and the killers of protesters, a reduction in the dollar price, and an end to the abhorrent quotas that have harmed industry, agriculture, and all aspects of life, leading to rising poverty rates.

Citizen Alaa Al-Moussawi confirmed the renewal of the October Revolution’s memory coinciding with the anniversary of the martyrdom of Lady Fatima Al-Zahra "peace be upon her".

Al-Moussawi stated in a statement to the News Video Agency that on this anniversary, we renew our demands to the Prime Minister to reveal the killers of the October protesters, reduce the dollar price, and complete the public accountability of corrupt individuals and embezzlers of public funds before the Iraqi people after their quotas have ravaged the nation's resources, destroyed industry and agriculture, and increased the poverty line.

On his part, Aqeel Al-Rubaie emphasized in a statement to the News Video Agency that the protesters' turnout was an extension of the demonstrations in Tahrir Square in Baghdad to renew the oath after years of the October Uprising memory that arose against corruption and to ensure people's rights to a decent life.

Meanwhile, Hussein Muaz indicated to the News Video Agency that the protest was a rejection of poor services and deteriorating conditions, emphasizing the demand to reopen the files of October victims and reduce the dollar price as it is a demand for all citizens.

One of the participants in the demonstration affirmed to the News Video Agency the continuation of protests to demonstrate that the cause persists as long as there is injustice, quotas, and foreign interference preventing Iraq from being safe and prosperous.
