The environment and Al-Nahrain University cooperate to identify mine locations using drones.

The Mines Affairs Department at the Ministry of Environment announced today, Tuesday, a joint collaboration with Al-Nahrain University to enhance field survey operations using drones and to benefit from modern technologies in identifying the locations of unexploded ordnance and munitions.
The Director General of the department, Ihsan Jafar Ahmed, stated in a statement followed by the Video News Agency that "the department is working in cooperation with Al-Nahrain University, represented by the College of Engineering and the Departments of Artificial Intelligence and Drones, to activate a joint collaboration to employ modern technologies in field survey operations."
He added that "this step aims to enrich the department's database with accurate and updated information about the locations of unexploded ordnance and munitions, which contributes to developing work mechanisms and improving the efficiency of survey operations."
