The Spanish forward Jesús de Miguel, player of the Tenerife team, passed away this morning, Tuesday, due to injuries sustained from a violent clash with the goalkeeper of the Andorra team during the match between the two teams in the Spanish second division.
The Tenerife club announced in an official statement the death of its player at 8:00 AM on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, expressing its shock and deep sadness, and offering condolences to his family, friends, and teammates.
De Miguel suffered a cardiac arrest after colliding with Andorra's goalkeeper, Jesús Ouno, in the 98th minute of the match that took place on Monday evening, as the latter rushed to clear an airborne ball, colliding his knee with the forward's chest, causing him to fall to the ground immobile.
Medical teams quickly rushed to provide first aid to the player on the field for more than five minutes before he was transported by an equipped ambulance to the hospital, while it was decided to suspend the match.
The club had previously announced that the player's health condition had deteriorated at the neurological level, before confirming his death this morning.
It is noteworthy that De Miguel began his professional career in 2015 with the reserve team of Leganés and represented several Spanish clubs during his career before moving to Tenerife last year.
