The President of the Iraqi National Olympic Committee, Aqeel Muftin, clarified the mechanism for dealing with clubs and sports federations, confirming that the decisions to dissolve clubs are based on legal violations or judicial rulings, while considering the club's results and sports achievements.
Muftin stated in a statement followed by the News Video Agency that the dissolution of any club is based on legal violations or a judicial decision, pointing out that the committee deals with successful clubs facing legal problems by asking them to rectify their situations instead of changing their administrations, in appreciation of what they achieve in terms of results and accomplishments.
He added that clubs suffering from poor results and management, as well as legal violations, may face dissolution procedures, emphasizing the importance of distinguishing between successful administrations and those that do not meet the required objectives.
Regarding the Iraqi Football Federation, Muftin confirmed that it is one of the federations affiliated with the General Assembly of the National Olympic Committee, pointing out the committee's support for it and its eagerness to assist it in continuing its work along the right path.
