A member of the Anbar Alliance, Raed Abdullah al-Dulaimi, confirmed today, Tuesday, that the approval of the Popular Mobilization Law has become a necessity that cannot be delayed, in light of the current stage's requirements related to internal security protection.
Al-Dulaimi stated, in a statement followed by the Video News Agency, that "political blocs, parties, and influential figures are openly working to obstruct the approval of the Popular Mobilization Law, despite its necessity for protecting this security institution that has fought terrorism and defeated the largest global organization and made significant sacrifices, and it is time to provide justice for its members."
He added that "obstructing the draft law does not serve the country's interests, and it benefits hostile internal and external parties," alleging that "the U.S. embassy in Baghdad played a pivotal role in obstructing its approval."
Al-Dulaimi affirmed the insistence of most members of the House of Representatives on approving and passing the law during the current parliamentary session.
