Voting continued on Tuesday in all U.S. states in the midterm elections, amid competition between Republicans and Democrats for control of Congress, in a process that will determine President Donald Trump's ability to pass his agenda during the remaining two years of his term.

Americans are choosing all 435 members of the House of Representatives, along with 35 of the hundred senators, while concerns over the cost of living and the repercussions of the war on Iran top voters' priorities.

While polls and estimates from independent analysts suggest that Democrats are likely to take the majority in the House of Representatives, control of the Senate remains dependent on tight races, most of which are in states that traditionally lean Republican, according to Reuters.

The elections do not include the presidency, but they represent a test of his performance since returning to the White House, and could provide the opposition with tools to obstruct his legislative projects and investigate his administration's decisions.
