British Prime Minister Andy Burnham confirmed that the harsh defeat of Republican candidates in the American midterm elections is a message to end the war on Iran.
Andy Burnham stated that the results of the American midterm elections give the world an opportunity to focus on ending the war on Iran and reducing the cost of living, and in my opinion, this is the message from voters in America as well.
Burnham continued that American voters want the world to "stand together and focus on issues that matter to people."
In response to a question about his reaction to the election results, and whether he thinks these results will make Donald Trump less predictable, the British Prime Minister said: "President Trump has accepted the election results. In my opinion, there is now an opportunity for the world to unite in facing the issue that affects us all; which is the cost of living."
He added: "This issue has been at the top of my priorities during the first three months of my time in the Prime Minister's office, and we have taken action on it. But as long as the clashes in the Middle East continue, I cannot lift the pressure from the cost of living off the shoulders of citizens."
In response to a question about whether he is concerned about escalating tensions in the Middle East following the election results, Burnham said: "I will strive to reduce tensions, and I will clarify our position on this matter. We want to resolve this conflict and fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and we will work to achieve this goal."
Donald Trump faced a humiliating defeat following a sweeping victory for the Democrats, leading to their control of both the Senate and the House of Representatives. In this election, even voters in traditionally Republican areas turned their backs on Trump's party candidates.
