Police team coach, Hussein Abdul Wahid, confirmed that his team's ambitions in the AFC Champions League 2 are not limited to reaching the second round, but extend to competing for the championship title, after a significant victory over Jordan's Al-Hussein Irbid.
Abdul Wahid stated, in a statement followed by the Video News Agency, that "the police team delivered a great match against Al-Hussein Irbid, and the victory came after a tactical reading of the rival team, and we succeeded in exploiting opportunities and achieving a great win that boosted our chances of reaching the second round."
He added that the brilliance of goalkeeper Jalal Hassan was not surprising, considering his technical value and international experience, noting that his level reflects the capabilities he possesses and makes him one of the key players to victory.
Abdul Wahid emphasized that the team's ambitions go beyond qualifying from the group stage, aiming to compete for the championship title and fulfill the aspirations of Iraqi fans.
The police team had achieved a 3-0 victory over Al-Hussein Irbid in the match held on Tuesday as part of the AFC Champions League 2 competition.
