The Vice Presidents of the Iraqi Football Association, Sarmad Abdul Ilah and Muhammad Nasir, received today, Tuesday, the delegation of the youth team qualified for the 2027 AFC U-20 Asian Cup, in the presence of the Executive Committee member of the Olympic Committee, Dr. Zaidun Jawad Muhammad.
Abdul Ilah and Nasir congratulated the members of the administrative delegation, coaching staff, and players of the team for topping Group 6 in the qualifiers held in Chonburi, Thailand, praising the technical level and high spirit displayed by the players during the competitions.
The Vice Presidents of the Association confirmed that the qualification reflects the continuous work in the youth sector and represents an important step in the journey of Iraqi football, emphasizing the need to continue preparation and optimal readiness for the upcoming Asian Cup finals.
For his part, the head of the team delegation, Khalaf Jalal, and his deputy, Abdul Razak Al-Shalah, expressed their appreciation for the ongoing support provided by the Iraqi Football Association to the team, affirming their commitment to working towards a dignified appearance and a level that befits the reputation of Iraqi football in the upcoming Asian finals.
