Al-Zaydi announces the start of handing over the factions' weapons in Sinjar and subjecting the mountain to the federal government.

Prime Minister and Commander of the Armed Forces Ali Faleh Al-Zaydi announced today, Friday, the start of handing over the weapons of the Sinjar Resistance factions to the state and asserting the full authority of the Federal Government and its security and administrative institutions over Mount Sinjar, confirming that restricting weapons to the state is fundamental to protecting the citizens of the district and consolidating its stability.

The media office of the Prime Minister stated in a statement received by the Video News Agency that Al-Zaydi received a delegation from the leadership of the Yazidi Cause Coalition, its parliamentary bloc leader Murad Ismail, and the leadership of the Sinjar Resistance Units, explaining that the decision to hand over the weapons comes to end the multiplicity of security decision-making centers, while ensuring the rights of the members of the resistance units and the women's units and integrating those qualified among them into the security institutions according to legal frameworks.

Al-Zaydi confirmed during the meeting that the state rejects having Sinjar as a battleground or the presence of any authority outside its framework, directing to include the Yazidi community members in the million housing plots project, and forming a high committee to prepare a comprehensive study on the security and service realities of the district and to organize the status of fighters and secure the full return of the displaced.
