Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his Omani counterpart Badr al-Busaidi conducted a phone call today, Saturday, where they discussed the latest developments in the region and issues of mutual interest.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a brief statement that the two sides "exchanged views," without disclosing additional details about the content of the conversations.

A meeting is expected to be held on Monday in Oman, involving Iran and Gulf countries to discuss the security of navigation in the strategic corridor, amid diplomatic moves to contain regional tensions.

This comes amid disagreements regarding the management arrangements for navigation and the fees imposed on transiting vessels, while an Iranian official told Reuters that the meeting will not conclude with a final agreement, but will set a framework for discussing regional issues and the navigational corridor.
