Government action to support farmers and direct instructions to give special importance to barley cultivation.

Prime Minister Ali Falah Al-Zaydi received today, Saturday, a delegation from the General Union of Cooperative Agricultural Associations, headed by Wisam Saleh Mahdi.

The media office of the Prime Minister stated in a statement received by the Video News Agency that Al-Zaydi listened during the meeting to a presentation about the reality of the agricultural sector and the main challenges facing farmers, foremost among them being the provision of fuel, fertilizers, and pesticides.

It added that the Prime Minister emphasized the government's continued support for the agricultural sector and addressing obstacles to boost local production and improve the living standards of farmers.

It also reported that Al-Zaydi directed that special attention be given to forage crops, especially barley, due to their role in developing livestock wealth and ensuring sustainable production.
