The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Abdul Hussein Al-Mousawi, directed today, Saturday, to take all scientific and administrative measures that ensure the quality of education in medical colleges at private universities.

Al-Mousawi stated during the endorsement of the report from the inspection committee for medical colleges, according to a statement from the ministry received by the News Video Agency, that the commitment of these colleges to scientific quality standards and clinical training is essential for graduating competent doctors to support hospitals.

He added that the ministry issued warnings to seven private medical colleges to rectify the violations indicated within a maximum period until the fifteenth of October; otherwise, their admissions will be suspended, while also requiring private colleges to prepare a teaching hospital by contracting with the Ministry of Health and paying one billion dinars annually to maintain the hospital.

He further noted that the number of accepted students will depend on the actual capacity of the hospital and training staff at a rate of three students per occupied bed annually for the total study stages.
