The Minister of Education, Abdul Karim Abtan Al-Jubouri, chaired a large meeting on Monday that included the General Director of Educational Supervision, Omar Al-Mashhadani, and the directors of the supervision departments in Baghdad and the provinces, to review the reality of supervision, its obstacles, and proposals for improving performance.
The ministry stated in a statement received by the Video News Agency that Minister Abdul Karim Abtan Al-Jubouri clarified that the ministry's decisions are educational and well-studied, not haphazard, calling for intensified visits to remote schools and documenting their reality and needs.
According to the statement, Al-Jubouri described educational supervision as the "mature mind" of the educational process, due to its role in evaluating performance and correcting the course of education. He urged supervisors to monitor the behavior, performance, and appearance of teachers and to restore dignity to their status, holding the ministry responsible before God and the community for any inappropriate behavior within the institution.
The Minister of Education called for involving parent councils in school affairs and distancing political interference from educational work, except for what aims to elevate the educational process and the status of the educational institution.
