Iraq's Foreign Minister discusses with the Lebanese President the developments in the region and diplomatic efforts.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi discussed the developments in Lebanon and the region and exchanged views on the matter during a phone call with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun on Wednesday.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry stated in a statement received by the news agency that Minister Araghchi emphasized during the conversation his country’s firm commitment to the necessity of stopping the attacks and aggression of the Zionist entity on Lebanon and ending the occupation of the southern regions, and he informed the Lebanese president about the diplomatic movements and efforts undertaken by the Islamic Republic over the past days and weeks.

The Lebanese president emphasized, according to the statement, the priority and necessity of diplomatic solutions to address the region's crises.

It added that the conversation included discussions on other topics, including enhancing bilateral relations between Iran and Lebanon, and continuing communication and dialogue between the officials of the two countries.
