The health monitoring teams at the Najaf Health Directorate conducted a regulatory campaign that resulted in the seizure of food items unfit for human consumption inside a meat storage facility in a home.

The Directorate stated in a statement received by the "Video News Agency" that "the health monitoring teams at the Najaf Health Directorate carried out a joint regulatory campaign in coordination with the Organized Crime Directorate and the veterinary hospital, as part of their ongoing efforts to enhance food safety oversight and protect public health."

Amjad Al-Jinabi, head of the health monitoring division in the public health department, explained that "the campaign led to the discovery of a meat storage facility inside a home, where 200 kg of expired liver was disposed of, while the veterinary hospital decided to destroy five tons of fat, following the proper procedures."

Al-Jinabi added that "the health monitoring division took the necessary legal actions, which included closing the shop, emphasizing the continuation of joint regulatory campaigns and the monitoring of food storage and trading locations to reduce violations and ensure that unfit food does not reach the public."
