Baghdad Municipality directed today, Wednesday, the owners of private generators to organize the electrical wires connecting to citizens in residential neighborhoods within 5 days, while threatening violators with penalties that may include the removal of these generators.

The spokesperson for the municipality, Addi Al-Jundil, stated in a press interview accessed by "Video News Agency," that "there are procedures and directives from the municipal agent in Baghdad Municipality, Ali Kamel Al-Saadi, and an instruction from the Secretary General of Baghdad to all owners of private generators to organize the wiring process connected to citizens by gathering them in one bundle along the sides of the streets."

He added that "organizing the wiring process preserves public aesthetics and that some of these wires in the alleys obstruct the work of vehicles that enter to provide services for the residents of the capital. Therefore, it has been decided to organize these wires in residential neighborhoods within five days."

He continued that "the directive included assigning municipal departments to supervise this issue by properly organizing the wiring of private generators connecting to citizens and managing this process by the owners of the private generators."

He pointed out that "there will be measures and penalties for the owners of the generators that may include the removal of these generators if they fail to organize the wires connecting to the residential homes."
